As a former management consultant, turned tech entrepreneur, turned DJ, Vikas is a man that knows how to wear many hats.
Vika’s musical tastes are diverse as his professional background – we have seen him blow the roof off parties at PHD and Avenue playing mostly club top 40, while at the same time rock parties at Electric Room playing a more eclectic mix of indie tunes.
In addition to playing at nearly every hot venue of the moment in New York, Vikas has made a name for himself outside of the city, recently DJing the closing ceremony of the Democratic National Convention (although we are not sure of his political leanings) as well as international gigs.
Don’t let DJ Bambi’s doe eyed look fool you, she puts together some of the highest energy EDM sets that we have seen of any DJ in the city, right up there with big name international DJs. You will most likely find DJ Bambi playing a killer set at one of the city’s EDM focused clubs such as Lavo, Marquee or Pacha where she has opened for the best of the best including Tiesto, David Guetta and Morgan Page.
While many DJs can play excellent sets with rolling stone songs, soulful hiphop tunes, or indie sounds from The XX, Mick Boogie has the rare talent of being able to DJ a set with all three genres, and pull it off flawlessly. Mick is well known for his ‘mix-tapes’ which you can download and enjoy for free from his soundcloud page. With the number of high profile gigs Mick manages to play throughout the US and internationally, we wonder where he finds the time make appearances in New York.
The Chain Smokers
The Chain smokers are a DJing / Producing duo comprised of Andrew Winter and Alex Pall. Their extensive collection of remixes, bootlegs, original tracks and aggressive eyebrows have garnered them an ever growing following in the New York Nightlife scene. In addition to playing gigs nation wide and internationally, the duo also regularly appears at many of New York’s premier clubs. While their passion is primarily electronic music, they also are believers in throwing a little hip-hop, rock, soul and dub step into their sets to keep the crowd on their toes. Perhaps the only thing that is more wild and untamed their the duo’s DJ sets are their bushy eyebrows.
